Eiffage and Apsys sign a €140 million construction contract
Eiffage and Apsys sign a €140 million construction contract for the Lacina shopping centre at Poznan in Poland, one of the largest in Europe.
Through its subsidiary Eiffage Construction, Eiffage and Centrum Lacina, an Apsys subsidiary, have signed a contract to build the Lacina shopping centre at Poznan in Poland, which will be among the largest in Europe. The contract amounts to around €140 million for a total investment of about €290 million.
The Lacina shopping centre will be located in Poznan, Poland’s leading business and trade centre. It will stand on the right bank of the Warta River, a ten-minute walk from the old city centre. The complex will have a gross leasable area of around 100,000 square metres, comprising more than 300 shops and 3,300 parking places.
Lacina will be a new-generation multi-function shopping centre and aims to achieve Breeam (Very Good) certification. The new centre, designed by architect firm RTKL, will provide a unique shopping experience through its innovative design, unequalled retail offer, new technology and pioneering policy of customer services (car parking service, concierge, customer lounge, etc.).
Top quality materials have been chosen for this prestigious building: marble floors, elaborate ceilings, decorative lighting and numerous LCD screens, all selected to decorate and enliven the shopping malls with a particular focus on natural light through glass panelling and open roofs.
The work will be carried out by Eiffage Construction’s subsidiary, Eiffage Polska Budownictwo, over a period of 26 months, including 15 months for building the shell. The company will also create the square in front of the main entry, whose fountains and lighting effects will be a key element of the centre. Twelve cranes will be needed to build this edifice of stone-faced walls and glass facades.
Work will commence in the spring of 2014 for scheduled delivery in 2016.
